The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Plain English
"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth" means God was already there before the sky and the land existed. He made both of them by His own will. You did not start this world, and you do not have to hold it up.
Devotional
Stand at a kitchen window before the street is busy. The sky changes color, and nobody on your block earned that light. The same God who created heaven and earth knows the small house where you are standing.
