The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Jeremiah 29:11King James Version

Plain English

The Lord says, "I know the thoughts that I think toward you," and they are "thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." An expected end means a future and a hope. These words were first spoken to people living in exile, far from home. They are not a promise that every plan will feel easy.

Devotional

You may know what it is to live out of a suitcase in a rented room, far from the kitchen you still call home. The days feel long, and you cannot see how this stay will end. God spoke to people in that kind of exile and told them His thoughts toward them were peace, with a future and a hope.
