"Above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness." Charity means love. Paul has listed other good ways to live, and above them he says put on love, the tie that holds those ways together. Without love, the pieces fall apart.

A belt keeps a coat from flapping open in the wind. Love is that kind of bond. You can try patience and kindness as separate items and still feel scattered. Put on love above them, and it holds a Christian's manner together.
