The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
Plain English
"Be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." Ye means you all, and hath means has. Kindness and a tender heart belong with forgiving, in the pattern of God's forgiveness given because of Christ. We forgive because we have been forgiven.
Devotional
A sharp word in the hallway can sting for the rest of the afternoon. Kindness that is tenderhearted does not answer only with a colder silence. It can forgive, because God, for Christ's sake, has forgiven you. That memory keeps forgiveness from turning into a favor you hold over someone.
