The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.
Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
Plain English
"Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering." Elect means chosen by God, holy and beloved means set apart and loved, and bowels of mercies means deep, tender mercy. Humbleness of mind, meekness, and longsuffering mean a humble mind, gentleness, and patience. God's people are told to put these on like clothes.
Devotional
Getting dressed is ordinary, and it changes how you meet the day. Paul uses that picture for the heart. Before you deal with people, put on mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. You do this as someone God has already chosen and loved, not as a stranger trying to impress Him.
