The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.

A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

Proverbs 17:17King James Version

Plain English

"A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity." Loveth means loves. A real friend does not love only when the visit is easy. A brother is born for adversity, which means family love is meant for hard times, not only for fair weather.

Devotional

A furnace that quits on a cold morning shows you who your people are. Some friends are busy when the need is messy. A friend who loves at all times comes anyway, and a brother born for adversity is not shocked that trouble arrived. Faithful love expects hard days and stays.
