As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
Plain English
"As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love." Hath means has, and ye means you all. The Father's love for Jesus is the measure of Jesus' love for His people, and continue means stay there. Do not treat His love as a visit you leave behind.
Devotional
On a cold day you stay near the stove because that is where the heat is. Walking off into the draft makes you forget how warm the room was. Jesus says continue in my love. Stay near the love He has already given, the same kind of love the Father has for Him.
