The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

James 5:16King James Version

Plain English

"Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed." Faults means failings, and ye means you all, so honest confession and shared prayer belong together for healing. "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" means the earnest prayer of a person right with God can do a great deal. Righteous here does not mean someone who never fails.

Devotional

Some pains stay private until they get worse. James tells believers to confess faults to one another and to pray. That is not a performance, and it is not a demand to tell every secret to a crowd. It is honest words with a trusted believer, and prayer God can use toward healing.
