The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.

What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.

Psalm 56:3King James Version

Plain English

"What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee." What time means whenever, and thee means you. The verse does not say that trust waits until fear leaves, because fear and trust sit together in this line. Whenever fear shows up, the choice is to trust God right there.

Devotional

Night can make a small noise in the house sound like a large threat, so you lie still and your mind runs. This short verse fits that hour: whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. You do not have to feel brave first, because trust is what you do while the fear is still in the room.
