The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Plain English
"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you." Unto means to. Jesus gives His own peace, and He says it is not the kind the world gives. He adds, "Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid," so His peace is a gift, not a calm that depends on good news.
Devotional
The world can offer a quiet hour that vanishes when the phone rings with bad news, and that peace is thin. Jesus gives His peace, and He says it is not as the world gives. You can still hear the phone, yet you do not have to let your heart be troubled or afraid, because the peace He gives is His own.
