The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.
The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
Plain English
"The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul." Preserve means guard, and thee means you, so God guards His people and guards the soul. "The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore." He watches your leaving and your coming home, from now on and forever.
Devotional
When someone you love steps off the porch for work, your mind wants to go with them. This psalm puts those trips in God's hands. People still meet danger in this world, and the promise still stands. The Lord preserves your soul, and your going out and your coming in, now and forever.
