The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.

A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.

Proverbs 16:9King James Version

Plain English

"A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps." Deviseth means plans, and directeth means directs. You make a plan, and that is normal, but the Lord directs the steps you actually take. Your map is not the last word.

Devotional

You can plan a route and still meet a closed road. The errand changes, and the plan you liked is suddenly old. Proverbs says the heart devises the way, and the Lord directs the steps. Make your honest plan, and hold it loosely enough for God to turn your feet.
