The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Isaiah 53:6King James Version

Plain English

Isaiah says, "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way," and the Lord "hath laid on him the iniquity of us all." Hath laid means He has placed it there. Iniquity means our guilt and our wrong. None of us gets to claim we never wandered, and God laid that load on the servant who suffers in our place.

Devotional

At a family gathering, each person pulls toward a different plan, and nobody wants the same road home. We have all turned aside like that, each to our own way. God did not leave the guilt piled on our shoulders. He laid the iniquity of us all on Jesus.
