The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.

But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:57King James Version

Plain English

Paul says, "Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." Giveth means gives. The victory over sin and death is not a trophy we win by ourselves. God gives it through our Lord Jesus Christ, and thanks is the fitting answer.

Devotional

Guilt can feel like a fight you have already lost, with no strength left on your side. Then you hear that the victory was given, not grabbed. Paul does not thank himself. He thanks God, who gives the victory through Jesus.
