But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Plain English
Paul says the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus will "quicken your mortal bodies." Quicken means make alive, and mortal bodies are bodies that die. That Spirit "dwelleth in you," which means He lives in God's people. The same power that raised Jesus gives life to bodies that are wearing out, as present help and as the resurrection still ahead.
Devotional
Your knees complain on the way across the room, and you move more slowly than you did years ago. This body is mortal, and pretending otherwise does not help. The Spirit who raised Jesus dwells in God's people and will give life to these very bodies. You can ask for strength for this morning and still hold the larger hope.
