The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.

The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.

Psalm 28:7King James Version

Plain English

David says, "The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped." A shield stands between you and the blow. Trust came first, and then he could say he was helped. Help turned into praise, and he promised to thank God with a song.

Devotional

The towels are piled on the bed, the day was heavier than you planned, and still you can point to one place where you were helped. Maybe a bill was smaller than you feared, or a friend arrived at the right hour. David trusted, and then his heart rejoiced. A short song while you fold a towel is a fitting way to say so.
