The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Plain English
Paul says, "Be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might," and "Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." That old spelling means armor, a picture of the help God gives, wiles are tricks and schemes, and ye means you. This is not a call to pick a fight with your neighbor or your family. It is a call to stand firm in the Lord's strength when evil schemes against you.
Devotional
Morning is when you get dressed for the day, and you can pray while you do it. Ask God to clothe you with His help the way you put on a coat before you face the weather. The armor is a picture of His strength, so you can stand. It is not an order to go hunting for a quarrel with the people on your street.
