The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.

The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

Exodus 14:14King James Version

Plain English

Moses told Israel, "The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace." Hold your peace means be still, not a demand to wear a polite smile while you panic inside. They were trapped, with an army behind them and the sea in front of them. God promised to fight for His people, and their part was to be still and trust Him.

Devotional

A problem sits in front of you like a road that has been closed, and panic says you must solve it before dark. You pace the living room, you dial, and you wear yourself out. Some battles are too big for your hands. Being still is trust, and the Lord fights for His people.
