The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.
For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.
Plain English
The Lord said, "In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength," and then added that the people "would not." Returning means turning back to God, and confidence means settled trust. Quietness and trust are where He locates strength. Rest was offered, and they refused it, so the warning is not to copy their refusal.
Devotional
A leak, a ringing phone, and a list of fixes can have you reaching for another call before you have prayed at all. Your shoulders climb, and you call that urgency faith. God offers strength in returning, rest, and quiet confidence. Sit down, turn back to Him, and let trust do what frantic effort cannot.
