The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Plain English
Jesus said people 'shall not live by bread alone.' They live by every word that comes out of the mouth of God, and proceedeth means comes out. Bread feeds the body, and that mercy matters, but food cannot take the place of what God says.
Devotional
A full plate can quiet a hungry stomach. It cannot tell you who you are, how to forgive, or where to put your fear. Set the Bible beside the plate, because people need God's word, not only food.
