The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.

But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

Luke 6:27-28King James Version

Plain English

'I say unto you which hear' means I am speaking to you who are listening. Jesus says to love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who despitefully use you. This command is real, and it does not mean you must let abuse go on.

Devotional

A curse wants a curse back, the way a shout in a hallway bounces off the walls. Jesus asks for a blessing, a prayer, and a good deed instead. You can speak that blessing and still step away from a person who is hurting you.
