Plain English
'It is not good that the man should be alone,' God said. He would make a help meet, a suitable helper, a partner who fits, and this verse is the beginning of marriage. If you are single or widowed, you still need people, and that need is honest and good.
Devotional
A table with one plate is sometimes peaceful, and it can also be too quiet. God saw that aloneness was not good, and He made a fitting partner. Marriage is a gift, and so is the friend or church family who keeps you from living cut off.
