The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

Romans 8:31King James Version

Plain English

"What shall we then say to these things" means, what is left to say after all God has done. Then Paul asks, "If God be for us, who can be against us?" He is not saying that nobody will oppose you, because people, sickness, and loss can still stand in the way. If God is for us, no opponent gets the last word.

Devotional

At a small meeting, neighbors take sides, and you can feel who is against your idea. The room is real, and the vote may not go your way. Paul's question still stands. If God is for us, opposition can hurt, and it cannot cancel his help.
