The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Plain English
Paul says, "I count not myself to have apprehended," which means he has not already arrived or grabbed the prize. "Forgetting those things which are behind" means he will not let the past chain him. "Reaching forth unto those things which are before" means he strains toward what is ahead. "I press toward the mark" means he keeps going toward the goal, "the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."
Devotional
A walker on a long road keeps turning around to stare at the mile she already passed, and she stumbles when she does it. Paul said he had not arrived. He forgot what was behind, reached forward, and pressed toward the mark. You do not have to be finished, and you do need to face forward in Christ.
