The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Plain English
"Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies", and thou means you. God sets a meal of welcome while enemies are still nearby, so the trouble has not all left. "Thou anointest my head with oil" is the care and honor shown to a guest. "My cup runneth over" means my cup runs over, and there is more than enough.
Devotional
The family sets fried chicken on the table even though a feud is still going on down the road. The enemies have not vanished, and God can prepare a table in their presence. He anoints the head with oil, and the cup runs over. His care can be real before the conflict is over.
