In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.
Plain English
"In the multitude of my thoughts within me" means in the crowd of thoughts that will not sit still. "Thy comforts delight my soul" means God's comforts cheer the inner person. Anxious thoughts can be many, and his comforts are able to meet that crowd.
Devotional
At two in the morning the thoughts come like birds that will not leave the porch. Bills, health, a child who has not called. The psalm says that in that multitude of thoughts, God's comforts delight the soul. One true comfort from him can quiet a whole flock of worries.
