The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.

When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the LORD thy God for the good land which he hath given thee.

Deuteronomy 8:10King James Version

Plain English

"When thou hast eaten and art full" means when you have eaten and are satisfied, then you shall bless the Lord your God for "the good land" he has given you. The good land was the home God had given, and a full person can forget the giver. This command puts thanks after the meal, not only before it.

Devotional

You push the chair back from a full plate, warm and a little sleepy. That is the moment Moses named. When you have eaten and are full, bless the Lord your God for the good land he has given you. Hunger remembers to ask, and a full stomach needs the reminder to thank him.
