The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.
Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;
Plain English
Paul says to charge "them that are rich in this world" not to be "highminded," not proud, and not to "trust in uncertain riches," wealth that can vanish. Trust "the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy." He gives richly, and his gifts are meant to be enjoyed. Then they are to "do good," be "rich in good works," "ready to distribute," and "willing to communicate," which means willing to share.
Devotional
The freezer is full, and that fullness is a kindness from the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. Enjoy the meal. Do not look down on people who have less, and do not trust the freezer as if it cannot empty. Be ready to distribute, and a bag of groceries shared is one way to be rich in good works.
