The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Matthew 1:21King James Version

Plain English

"She shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." Thou shalt means you shall, and the name Jesus points to the Lord who saves, and the angel gives the reason in plain words. He will save his people from their sins. The promised child is not only a sweet birth, and he is the Savior who deals with sin.

Devotional

A birth announcement puts a name in large letters, and the name tells you something. The angel said to call this son Jesus, because he shall save his people from their sins. When you say his name, you are saying that the Lord saves. He came for sinners, which means he came for people like us.
