Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Plain English
The Son is "the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person," the shining of God's glory and the exact likeness of who God is. He is "upholding all things by the word of his power," holding everything up by his powerful word. When he had "by himself purged our sins," cleansed our sins, he "sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high." He shows us God, carries the world, and his cleansing work is complete.

A clear photograph can show a person's real face when a description falls short. Hebrews says Jesus is the brightness of God's glory and the express image of his person. He also upholds all things by the word of his power, and he purged our sins by himself. Then he sat down, and you can trust the Son who shows you God and who finished that cleansing.
