The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.

I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

John 12:46King James Version

Plain English

Jesus says, "I am come a light into the world", and he came on purpose as light. "Whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness." Whosoever means whoever, believeth means believes, and abide means stay. The promise is for the person who believes on him, and they do not have to remain in the dark.

Devotional

A hallway stays dark until someone opens a door and the kitchen light falls across the floor. You do not have to remain in that hall. Jesus said he came as a light into the world, so that whoever believes on him should not abide in darkness. Believing is how you move toward the light he brought.
