The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

Luke 2:11King James Version

Plain English

This is Christmas Day, and the angel's news is plain: "unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord." "Unto you" means for you, "this day" means today, and the city of David is Bethlehem. A Savior is born. He is Christ the Lord.

Devotional

Christmas morning may come with wrapping paper, a quiet house, or both. Luke's announcement is clearer than any card on the mantel. For you, this day, in the city of David, a Savior is born, and he is Christ the Lord. Thank God for Jesus, the Savior who came for you.
