The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.
And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
Plain English
The one "that sat upon the throne" says, "Behold, I make all things new," and behold means look. He tells John to write it down, "for these words are true and faithful." On this last day of the year, that promise is a good word to carry, and it does not erase this year's grief overnight. God will make all things new, and his words stay trustworthy while you wait.
Devotional
The calendar is down to its last page, and some of the months were heavy. You do not have to pretend the grief left when the page turned. The one on the throne says, "Behold, I make all things new," and he calls those words true and faithful. Place the year in his hands, and let him make things new in his time.
