The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Plain English
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John is not talking about a page in a book, but about the Son, Jesus, who was with God and who is God, before anything was made. Jesus was never a late idea added on at the end.
Devotional
A letter on the table can carry a loved one's voice across many miles. You read the words, and the person feels near. Jesus is called the Word because He is God come near, not only a message sent from far away. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.
