The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31King James Version

Plain English

"They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength." To wait upon the Lord means to trust Him and look to Him for strength, not merely to sit idle. He gives new strength so His people "mount up with wings as eagles," run and not grow weary, and walk and "not faint," which means not give out.

Devotional

Recovery after illness can be one slow walk to the mailbox and back. You are not lazy for needing strength you do not have. Look to the Lord for it, and take the next step He gives. The eagle wings in this verse are His gift to the tired.
