The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Matthew 11:28King James Version

Plain English

Jesus says, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Unto means to, and ye means you all. He is speaking to worn-out people who work hard and carry heavy loads. Rest is His gift when they come to Him, not a prize for pushing harder.

Devotional

Some evenings you sit in the car after work and cannot make yourself open the door. Your body is tired, and your mind is still carrying the day. Jesus does not tell that worn-out person to try a little more first. He says come, and He will give rest.
