The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.
Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
Plain English
"Let love be without dissimulation" means let love be without pretending. Real love does not wear a mask. "Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good" means hate what is evil and hold tight to what is good. Love is sincere, and it does not make peace with wrong.
Devotional
A fake smile can keep a room polite while something harmful goes on. Paul will not call that love. Love without pretending cares about people and also turns from evil. It cleaves to what is good, the way a hand holds a rail on a slick step.
