The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.

Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

Romans 13:8King James Version

Plain English

"Owe no man any thing, but to love one another." Pay what you owe, and do not leave honest debts hanging. The one debt that never finishes is love. "He that loveth another hath fulfilled the law" means the person who loves another has fulfilled the law, because love does what God's commands are aiming at.

Devotional

A bill on the counter reminds you that some debts have due dates, but love is different. You can show love today and still owe it tomorrow, and that is right. Paul says owe no one anything, except the ongoing debt of loving one another. Pay what you can pay, and do not treat love as optional.
