Plain English
"Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." Unto means to, thee and thou mean you, shew means show, and knowest means know. God invites His people to call, He promises to answer, and He can show what they do not yet know. These words came in a hard time, so the invitation is not only for easy days.
Devotional
When you are lost in a large building, you call someone who knows the halls. Standing silent does not help. God says call to Me, and I will answer you. He can show great and mighty things you do not know, including mercy and a way you cannot invent while you worry alone.
