The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

Psalm 121:1-2King James Version

Plain English

"I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help." Mine means my, unto means to, whence means where, and cometh means comes. The singer looks toward the hills and then answers, "My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth." Help does not come from the hills, but from the Lord who made heaven and earth.

Devotional

On a clear day the land can look strong enough to save you, and the hills stand there large and quiet. The psalm enjoys that view and then tells the truth. Your help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth, so look up and then look to Him.
