The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Hebrews 4:16King James Version

Plain English

"Come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." Boldly means with confidence, not with a proud spirit, and unto means to. The throne of grace is the place of God's kindness, open because of Jesus. We come to receive mercy and to find grace, His help, right when we need it.

Devotional

Some people avoid a courthouse door because they expect only a scolding. Hebrews points to a throne of grace and says come boldly. You come needy, and you come sure of your welcome in Jesus. Mercy is there for what you have done wrong, and grace is there to help in the hour you are in.
