The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
Plain English
Jesus told a grieving sister, "I am the resurrection, and the life," and that the one who believes in Him will live even though he dies. "Believest thou this" means, do you believe this. He is not only a teacher with ideas about life after death. He Himself is the resurrection and the life.
Devotional
The dishes from the funeral meal are covered, and the house is too quiet. People say kind things, and still one chair is empty. Jesus does not brush grief aside. He offers Himself as the resurrection and the life to a heart that has to decide whether to trust Him.
