The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Acts 4:12King James Version

Plain English

Peter says, "Neither is there salvation in any other," because there is "none other name under heaven" by which we must be saved. Salvation means being rescued and made right with God. The name he means is the name of Jesus. He says this so people will come to the one who saves, and he says it plainly, without mocking the people who have not yet come.

Devotional

A river runs high, and several paths wander along the bank, but only one bridge reaches the other side. Friendly signs cannot replace the bridge. Jesus is the name heaven has given for salvation. You can say that with a gentle voice and still say it without blurring the truth.
