Plain English
John writes, "God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." Sent not means did not send. Jesus did not come on a mission to crush people. He came so the world might be saved through Him.
Devotional
A child breaks a window and waits for a parent to arrive with nothing but anger. The parent comes with a broom, a calm voice, and a plan to repair the harm. God sent His Son into the world to save it, not to condemn it. If you have been bracing for only judgment, let that purpose land on you as kindness.
