The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.
And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
Plain English
Jesus says, "As ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise." Ye means you. Treat people the way you want to be treated. It is simple to repeat and easy to skip when you are tired, rushed, or sure that you are the exception.
Devotional
You know how you want the nurse to speak when you are slow getting out of the chair. You want a steady arm, an unhurried voice, and no sigh that makes you feel foolish. The next person you meet may need that same manner from you. The rule Jesus gives fits a clinic hallway as surely as it fits a grand story.
