The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.
If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
Plain English
Paul says, "If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men." As much as lieth in you means as far as it depends on you. He knows peace takes more than one willing person. You are responsible for your side, and you cannot force the other person to meet you there.
Devotional
A relative has a sharp opinion about how things should be done, and the room gets small in a hurry. You cannot control that tongue. You can lower your own, tell the truth without a jab, and let a small slight pass. Peace still has your side of the room, even if the other side stays tense.
