But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
Plain English
James says the wisdom from above is "first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy." Easy to be intreated means willing to listen and open to reason. Without partiality means you do not play favorites, and without hypocrisy means the outside matches the inside. God's wisdom is clean first, and then it makes peace.

A family has to decide who does the driving this week and who gets the harder errand. It would be simple to favor the person who complains the loudest. Wisdom from above looks at what is right, stays gentle, and does not pretend. Mercy and fairness can share the same plan.
