The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
Plain English
The writer says, "Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might." Thy means your, and might means strength. He adds that the grave is not a place of work, planning, or wisdom. This life is the time to do the task in front of you with your real strength, and that is sober good sense, not a threat.
Devotional
A porch rail wobbles, and you have walked past it for weeks with a promise to fetch the screwdriver. Your hand has found the job already. Do it with your might while the afternoon is yours, because the grave is not a workshop where loose rails get fixed. Strength spent on a needed task is not small.
