The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
Plain English
Paul says to be "stedfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord," because "your labour is not in vain in the Lord." Stedfast means steady, and not in vain means the work is not wasted. Abounding means giving yourself fully, not doing the least you can get by with. Work done in the Lord is not empty, even when nobody sends a thank-you.
Devotional
The meeting room needs straightening, the chairs need stacking, and the work will look undone again before long. It is tempting to decide that small labor does not matter. Paul says it is not in vain in the Lord. Steady work for Him counts, even when the room is empty and your back is tired.
