The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
Plain English
God says, "When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee," and the rivers "shall not overflow thee." Thou and thee mean you, and the same promise covers walking through fire without being consumed. You may still pass through deep water and heat. His presence goes with you, and the trouble does not get the final word.
Devotional
Rain has pushed the creek over the low spot in the road, and you still need to reach the other side. The water is real, cold, and higher than you wanted. God does not say His people will never face a flood or a fire. He says He will be with them, and the waters will not sweep them away for good.
